Gulab jamun is a dessert often eaten at festivals or major celebrations such as marriages, Diwali (the Indian festival of light) and the Muslim celebrations. There are various types of Gulab jamun and every variety has a distinct taste and appearance.
It is one most popular indian desserts which is made out of khoya, dough, often including double cream and a little flour flavored with cardamom, rosewater or saffron and then by frying the dried milk balls and soaking them in sugar syrup. It is usually made with "essence of rose", but in the past rose petals were used.
